Looks like I may be getting my hands on a little project one of these. Went to see it today and took some pics. It has sat since 1996 and looks a little worse for wear but is complete. The floor will need to have some work done. What are panel availability like on these. Im from a VW background so there are plenty of bits available. Here are some pics

We have a red 1972 Daf 66 Marathon Coupe sitting in the garden, bought by my father in '75 or so. Looks very similar to yours, bar the newer gearstick and steering wheel.

I started some work on it back in 09, only to discover that it looked like it had a bit of a shunt in its life - which we never knew! Money is tight so I've put it on ice, but someday I hope get it going.

How's the old variomatic on this one? Those Renault lumps tend to blow as they get revved to bits by the CVT, but I reckon you know all about it. I have memories of my father hoisting out the engine with my uncle when I was a kid, I think he did it 3 times - he'd buy old Renault 12's at the auctions just to do it.

Let me know if you find any good nick engines floating about!

We have rust on the floor, sils, around windscreen mainly - so watch out for that. I know the sils go all the time. How's the boot floor? I'm planning to weld a new one on ours.

Best of luck with

Hi

That looks very sweet, I particularly love the steering wheel which was also found in 1976-78 model year Volvo 343s. I can't help worrying about how much work there will be given it's been sitting outside for 16 years...

I am the friend that Super1303'81 mentions in this reply to your post on the Volkszone forum: http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showpos...4&postcount=12 and I agree with what he says.
