Default XC60 Active bending lights are....

.....inactive it seems
Dashboard message came up last night and there's a funny little symbol in the display after the message was cancelled. Oh well, minor thing to sort out.

Similar problem on the way home tonight. Got some message about the bendy lights being inactive (service required) and then a yellow bendy light symbol on the dash. The active high beam reverted to an on/off mode (auto dipped beam for oncoming and in front traffic). I switched off the engine and restarted - that seemed to clear the fault.

I haven't got active high beam but the dash warning and symbol you describe were not present today; but it was daylight - well sort of....

I had similar not long after I bought the car and it turned out to be a faulty connection to the level sensor near the rear wheels - took ages for them to work out what it was though

Thanks. I'll bear that in mind. How on earth does a level sensor affect swivelling headlights!!! Too many bloody sensors nowadays, generally on system critical paths too. Single point failures!!!

Hi Westyman, off topic I know but I don't yet qualify to send pm.

Is this is what you're looking for:-

1) have driver's door closed

2) insert key and go to position II (don't have foot on brake else engine will be started)

3) return to position 0

4) raise wiper stalk for about 1 sec and blades will go to vertical, they will restore next time engine is started.

In my manual this is under "Maintenance & Service" chapter, about page 300.

Quite simple really. The lights are also self levelling and they need to know if the car is level

If a sensor is faulty then they revert to non-swivelling and presumably this would also stop the levelling - ever noticed how they go up and down when the car switches them on?
