Stick with Bosch or NTK for the lambda sensor - available from any motor factor or partsforvolvo, skandix etc.
Re the cat, I'd go to a local exhaust specialist, every town has one. They're usually far cheaper than genuine Volvo - typically £150 or so fitted. HTH

Lambda sensor
stupid question, but there are two sets of severed wires under car. Does the car have two lambda sensors?

Yours is a '98 so ME7? Mine is pre-ME7 so I can't say sorry.

On the downpipe itself if you are replacing the entire pipework you will need to ensure the exhaust flange at the turbo is correct. It could be 2.5" straight flange or 3" angled flange depending on if the car is M4.4 or ME7 respectively (or if someone has changed the turbo as well).
On the lambda sensors both M4.4 and me7 have 2 sensors however they are different sensors - certainly the post cat on the ME7 is a wideband whereas M4.4 they are both narrowband. There used to be a really useful website where you could search models of cars and get the part numbers for lambda sensors (and also order them for a reasonable price) but I can't remeber the name of it.

That'll be M4.4, same as my car.
I found the site www.ecolambda.co.uk but they don't appear to list my model anymore but digging out my emails (from 2012 when I bought mine) the 2 bosch part numbers I ordered were: 0258005097 and 0258005063. I can't remember which is which but it will be obvious when you get them as the post cat one has a longer cable. It "should" have the 2.5" straight flange turbo unless someone has changed it.
