I had the car on the ramp today at work doing a bit of a service before winter and I've noticed that the lock stops that are riveted to the wishbones are missing are they available separately or do they come with the wishbones the ball joints and bushes are really good do hope you can just get the parts I need

I bought mine from my local Volvo dealer who were cheaper at the time.

By the time you add PFV/Skandix postage, its probably cheaper to get them from FRF

Unless you have an amazing rivet gun, or a magic size I think they often just fall off again within a few months.
I drilled out the hole in the wishbone to 5mm and tapped it to M6 fine thread, put a bolt with a bit of locktite on it, same stops have been on 3 years now and still solid.

The white ones are flat but the blue ones are tapered. Which way round should they be fitted?

I don't warrant the veracity of this:

I heard from a mate who had a mate, who had a dog that spoke to next-doors' cat, that the UK MOT does not consider the tyre rubbing on the plastic wheel-arch an MOT fail. It's 'written-up' for MOT testers in their 'booky', thus your car cannot fail with tyres rubbing.

Which kinda makes sense, it's not desirable, but it's hardly dangerous either.

Mine passes like it, but maybe the tester missed it?

Just spoke to one of our cats who said that he heard from a local urban (street wise) fox that this was probably true.

My RH wheel arch liner has a hole worn through by the tyre but has never had even an advisory on the MOT. It must be a special dispensation for P80 Volvos? There is no rubbing on the opposite side though.

As I recently had a new set of 205 55 tyres fitted in place of the original 205 50, thought I should fit the larger stops to prevent the chance of the tyres rubbing for once and for all.

Thanks for the information.
