1996 850tdi @ 170k - barely run in!
Have replaced a lot of suspension & brake components through wear & tear. Engine is bulletproof! Fantastic car for the age.

Hi All,
Just got rid of my March 2008 C70 D5 Rica remapped with 54k on it. No problems at all. Just bought Sept 2009 S80 D5 SE Premium with R-Design kit (planning to remap it soon) with 43k on it. I actually now think about places i can drive even when i'm not driving for work |

S60 D5 SE 03 Plate - 115800 miles.
I've done about 9k in 8 months, but I haven't been lucky! Rear drivers side brake failure a month after buying, cost £300 plus to rectify, second hand hub, new brake internals, new discs and pads (both sides) THEN, Rear left hand caliper started binding, burnt the paint off my lovely new Volvo brake disc and needed a new caliper and pads (PAds both sides) - £180 ish THEN! Two injectors failed along with my in tank pump, £900 later it's sorted other than it needs to pop back into the garage as one of the changed injectors is puffing (blowing past the sealing washer). I've also changed the headlight wipers! So, not a good start to Volvo ownership if I'm honest, I've NEVER had to spend so much on a car! It would have cost half as much if I had the time to fix myself, but I work away so it has to get done in the specialists. Still, with that lot done, I'm expecting at least 100k without anymore big bills! (I know!) Superb car when its well though, puffing injector aside, it's running well now, very strong performance and very refined. I won't buy a diesel again though, the cost of injectors, pumps, filters etc far outweighs the benefits of the (frankly amazing on the D5 S60) fuel economy. If you do a lot of mileage however, I doubt there is a better equipped, quality vehicle for the money. However, if I do replace this car, a T5 or R is on my shopping list. G |

'97 V70 tdi Auto - just passed 195k this week and running smoothly and without smoking or burning oil.
I've had to do a lot of niggling jobs to get it right but little left to do now except replacing the spring seats on the front shocks. Wish I'd bought one years ago!
