Default 1986 Volvo 360 GL hatchback for sale

Hi all for sale is my project Volvo 360 GL in the best colour of Ocean Blue metallic, I don’t have any time for it so I haven’t even started it and I've had it for about 18 months now!

I bought it from the son of the original owner, the son has given up driving so needed to get rid of it. I bought it with the intention of restoring it and fitting twin Webers, but I've now got another project car I would rather put the money in to.

It has done just under 91k miles, the cam belt was last changed in 1999 at 87k miles so that means in 22years it has done less than 4k miles! I was told it was always serviced and only had genuine Volvo or quality aftermarket parts fitted. It was garaged for the first 30 years of its life, there is rust on the rear arches, on the scuttle and a few patches here and there of surface rust. The worst part is the front valence on the bottom where it hit a kerb some years ago and was never dealt with so it will need some time and effort to get the weding sorted.

The engine is a B200K which runs very nicely and looks to have had a replacement distributor cap and leads recently. I was told the rear brake cylinders were replaced in 2018.

Radiator is weeping and was just topped up when needed by the previous owner. Being a copper core it could potentially be soldered or brazed. I do have a replacement radiator that can come with the car for an extra £30.

This is a restoration project and needs some love but will make a brilliant car once finished.

It has a rear wiper and a tow bar so it would make a practical classic which could be used to tow a caravan or trailer.

The car is located in Worcester near junction 6 of the m5 and is an original Worcester car coming from the now closed down John Wallwork Volvo dealership, it has the original dealer plates and badge.

I will get some interior photos once I've given it a clean as I have been using it store Volvo bits.

I want £1100 for the car or £1200 with the roof rack and radiator. I think that is a fair price considering an absolute rot box of a 360 that needed welding absolutely everywhere sold for £850 on ebay a few months ago.

V5 is present and in my name.

How much of a project do you think it is? What will it take to get it through an MOT?

I’m ideally looking for something on the road and was initially thinking of a 240 but my budget has been smashed by something unforeseen!

Started to think about a 360 as I had a couple 340s in my youth but I believe the 360 is the one to have? Supposed to be looking at a 1.7 3 door this week but don’t want to settle for something lesser if I have the choice!
I can’t send messages so you can reach me on jamesdmaw@hotmail.com

Thanks
James

Hi, Are you in contact with the buyer? The reason I ask is I need a square on photo of the full John Wallwork number plate if at all possible? I have a John Wallwork 240 and my plate guy needs a photo to make some replica plates for mine. Sorry to be a pain, but I’m getting desperate! Hope you can help! Many thanks, Darren

Hey.
I saw this older post, you were looking for original 'John Wallwork' number plates to remake the design. Did you ever find them?
I have just bought a 1990 240GL and it has its original set from John Wallwork if this is any help?
