Default V90 T5 CC Stop/Start Service Required?

Has anyone had this Message/Warning come up?

"Stop/Start Service Required"

I have contacted my Volvo garage who have said that the battery needs charging?

As it is below 62% they cannot reset the Message/Warning.

A bit strange on an 18th month old car?

Any advice please?

Put a smart charger on the engine compartment charge point connections and charge the batteries overnight. (They are AGM batteries, a suitable smart charger is required, I use a C-TECK 7 amp charger)
Only use the engine bay charge posts never connect to the battery terminals. Leave battery terminals connected.

See if it resets once charged by pressing the steering wheel right hand side O button or the button on the end of indicator stalk.

If charging does not work check the engine bay battery voltage when terminals disconnected, here's how to access it and remove it if it needs replacing. (Only need check the engine bay battery)

Hi nu11eaf,
We'll after a few hours of charge, the Stop/Start warning just disappeared on it's own.
So I will have to see if Stop/Start actually works again now!
I will put another charge on tomorrow to top it up.
Regards,
jbd

End result: - After three days charging the battery at home, the Stop/Start warning was still there. Took it to Volvo who said that they recharged the battery and reset the warning. Why won't the warning just clear when the battery is at a suitable level of charge? Still love my V90 CC though. But when it is out of warranty, I will buy a VIDA.

Excuse my ignorance, what is a VIDA?
Also, is there an FAQ on this forum so I can decipher all the TLA/FLAs?

VIDA is Volvo's diagnostic system. Technically VIDA is just the software bit of the system and it requires a bit of hardware known as a DICE to interface with the car.

AFAIK there's no FAQ which covers the abbreviations - it's not a bad idea though.

It is always worth trying the old computer fix of turning everything off for five minutes and then turning it back on.
Just take the negative terminal off the 'smaller' battery first and see if it helps then try the main battery and finally both.
Nothing much to lose except may be some of your settings.
It works on our Mazda MX5 and worked on our Volvo S60.
