Default Gear Selector Problem Parts list

Hi everyone I am quite new to Volvo's and I have a problem with my 2006 auto D5 XC90 the problem is the release to move the car out of park is not working correctly and it has to be really forced out then all gears and tiptronic work as they should it goes in to park as it should also, I have ordered a repair kit for this problem but need to find out if my selector has a pin which I will not know until I have forced the gear knob off so can anyone tell me where I can download a parts list specific to my car as I really do not want to have to do it twice .Many thanks for anyones kind assistance with this Chris

I would be very suprised if you can get spares for the gear selector. You will have to buy a complete unit. A used item might be available.

Wow. I stand corrected.

That is the part you need. It is the same part in several Volvo models.

Phone your local dealership, speak to the parts department & ask them if they can send you a diagram. Or, ask them if your selector has a pin.

My local dealership have always been helpful & emailed across diagrams when needed, or told me what I needed to know over the phone. Worth a try, although some dealerships won't give you much info unless you're actually buying a part!
