I leave USB stick in the car, for days sometimes, until it upgrades completely. Each time you start the car it will continue from where it last stopped, so if you can't get a long run (like me - this one said "about 1:40") this is a good option..

I did that when I first got the car so I was on the latest update but have now used the usb stick for music lol need a new usb stick so by the time I get that get round to downloading the maps hopefully we can go away again so give the car a nice long journey.

Hi I loaded the new version of the maps and about a hour later the position doesn't correspond to where I am. Then it stops updating the position. After a hour or two it starts working again. But is not reliable now. Has any one had a problem with the new sensus maps. Does any one know how reliable the aerial in the shark fin is. Any thoughts as to what may be wrong.

Have been downloading the Sensus map updates fairly soon after release on a Windows 7 computer for the last five years .Takes 12 hours and has worked well .This time 32319055 18/2/21 ,the antivirus software has refused to download, as it has found some unfriendly trojans. Could this be the reason your display has corrupted. Perhaps antivirus bypassed.
Will try my local computer shop to download via Windows 10 shortly as it appears that others may have successfully updated.

After nearly two weeks it started working ok. And has been fine so far. Windows doesn't like downloading it because it is not from an approved site.

Default Sensus software upgrade

Downloaded the map update yesterday but when I tried to install it i was asked for an activation code. So I contacted the dealer about the software update which he said he could do for £100. He then went on to say that this map update is the last one that will be available for the year of my car (2013) So for the sake of one map update I'll spend the £100 on a satnav which can be updated in future.

You probably mean "can't" or "outdated"

But wouldn't you want the last map update anyhow? Otherwise it will be even more outdated.

I think he means to say that he will spend the £100 on a TomTom or something like that which he can continue to update.
