302mm caliper carrier / bracket / mounts 8251319

The now hard to get hold of 302mm caliper mounts 8251319 can look very similar. Just bought a set on ebay to find the guy unknowingly (or knowingly?) selling me a set of 280mm mounts. Hassle abounds.

Against 280mm, see Pics of the genuine item painted Barrybois red. Marmite not included.

So the 302 are the deeper looking ones? Most of them are so covered in dirt it's very hard to make out the numbers.

Yes I will, dare i say it (as a Brit), but Vegemite is better. I usually use a tin of custard to show this is not some pic I snaffled off t'interweb, but having now put my own pic up for grabs I rather defeat my own efforts. Yes 302mm do look deeper, but covered in sh*t you'd struggle. I'm told if you paint 'em wide-boyz-innit dayglo-orange your car goes faster, and your knuckles start to drag. Is this true?

I've never understood why folk paint calipers red. Fair enough if you have 6 pot brembos and your car is red, but not any of the rest of the time!

Saying that when I get round to it, need to replace seals in my calipers and will be painting them rust proof black

Black? black? black? You disgust me. Clearly you're not really getting this are you? I'm not even sure if it will work. And pray tell, how will you be making your delusions of 'talent' apparent to the rest of us with black? As I've said before on this subject, you need at least 16 pot calipers, more things pushin' see, hence 22 pot calipers make all the difference. I'd get those.

In red.

Sorry for the thread revival, but please can you tell me what the outcome of this was?
Before seeing your post, my understanding was that the 302mm bracket had longer "balance weights" on the front face vs. those found on the 280m brackets (I'd guess they were 2" vs. 1" long ??).
However, your pictures suggest that different brackets are available that can have exactly the same shorter "weights" with one variant being deeper than the other (presumably for the 302mm application).

FWIW, I have the same as your red ones and would really like to know if they're the correct for the 302's.

Cheers

Here you can see the differences between the 3 options on P80 platform: 320mm, 302mm, 280mm (top to bottom)

I assume high temperature brake callipers paint is suitable for painting these brackets?

Thanks for your reply
Seems like there are four options in total then; the three you have pictured, plus the "red painted" one the the first post..
