Monroe shocks, will it fit?
A little help please everyone, I have a 2008 XC70 sport with the active suspension.
I put those details into the Monroe site looking for replacement parts and it says they dont do them for my 185bhp version. HOWEVER they do them for the 2008 185bhp V70 and every other Xc70 after 2009?????? Could this be a mistake? Would a shock absorber advertised for a 1 year younger model with different bhp work on my XC70? I have attached screenshots of the monroe site to help explain what I mean. Thanks for any help. Volvo quoted me £570 for 1 shock absorber today Haha. Last edited by Swanman5593; Jan 27th, 2020 at 23:28. |

I've had a look on the Skandix website for front shocks for your car, just for an example. Yours is the facelift shape (P3), the 2007 model was the older model (P2).
I don't think the shocks from the 2007 model (P2) will fit your 2008 (P3) facelift shape car. They appear to have different part numbers & the parts themselves look different between the older chassis & the newer.

My bad, I worded the post wrong.
What I meant was will a shock absorber that seems to fit every other facelift version fit my type. Its seems like they just accidentally left my spec off the list. |

The V70 had three versions, whereas the XC70 had two. Let me have a look on another handy parts website...

Look at the years of manufacture.......2009, 2010, 2012 etc.
It's clearly a chart of what you call the P3, but for some reason they dont call it that. |

I think that's because the V70 had three versions, but the XC70 had two. I think people call the XC70 facelift a P3 because it basically looks the same as the third version of the V70.
This site might help you. Put your reg in, click 'Dampers' & take it from there. That should bring up the ones that fit your car & there's a variety of brands. www.buycarparts.co.uk The thing that's useful on that site is you can search for the original OE part number if you know it & it brings up the alternatives from other brands like Bilstein etc, but I can't find the active suspension ones for some reason. I don't think the bhp makes a difference to be honest & so long as the year is after 2007 (Version 2 on Monroe site), they should be fine. This site below for example, you can search from the year of your car onwards & the shocks look the exact same, so I don't think they changed the setup at all on the facelift shape. https://www.partsforvolvosonline.com...Path=2_25_1198
