Engine management light on
I appaulogise if this has already been talked about but haven't been able to find anything on this.
I have a s80 1.6drive 59 plate I have had a message come up as I start the car saying poor engine performance, but goes away as soon as I start to drive. Now it's brought on the engine management light. I've been told disconnecting battery should reset this. But recently I have found the car taking longer to fire up. Is there a way I can check for a code to what is up.? I know this could be done on the older cars pre 08. Hopefully giving me a place to start to work out what's up and hopefully fix without putting it in again to a garage to in my opinion. Get ripped off. I love this car but seem to be throwing money at it. Any help on this would be wonderful. Now leaving to take battery out Fixer2004 Last edited by Fixer2004; Sep 26th, 2015 at 11:09. Reason: Sorry. Message on display is reduced engine performance and have also disconnected battery. Didn't work. |

Hi,
What you really want to do is get the car connected to a dealer or indie and find out what code or codes are being logged. Otherwise you are really shooting in the dark. Des. . .

Dpf
Well I know the problem and have the cost.
Yet another expensive day at the garage. Turns out PDF failure Readings at 150% Needs completely replaced. Plus hose sensor etc. Going to cost £1230. Think I preferred my Nissan primera Last edited by Fixer2004; Sep 29th, 2015 at 16:53. Reason: DPF NOT PDF |

I had my DPF and EGR replaced with OEM for just shy of £800. Go to a good indy mate.
