Default Volvo V70 DRIVe vis-a-vis Skoda Superb

Has anyone any thoughts on comparing a Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI CR 140 against a Volvo V70 DRIVe. - Appreciate your thoughts

Had a drive of a 13 plate and found it had a great layout, plenty of space and poke but not nearly as quiet and smooth as the Volvo (could be my winter tyres) and also found the changing gear slightly fidgety a couple of times but no doubt a solidly built vehicle with loads of gadgets

I also thought the 17" low profile tyres made it feel a bit firmer and noisier

The Superb is a very nice car. It will have more power lower down and be smooth. I have the Drive engine in my V60 and the Superb engine will not need to work as hard to get you where you want to be. It will be a very comfortable mile muncher.
To equal out whilst the Superb boot will be huge the V70 will be more square and practical. It depends what you need.
Regarding the tyres, they could have been over or under inflated. The Superbs I've been in have been very good suspension and comfort wise.

I've not driven the Superb but I did sit in one just after I bought my V70 and its miles bigger inside. I'm 6'3" and the legroom in the back was amazing.

Cant really compare engines as I have a D5. If I was going for the Skoda I'd love the V6 !

Sorry - Think I've gone a bit off thread here !
