Default Gear Knob

My gear knob on my 940 with overdrive is falling apart. The overdrive switch is still working. Is it just a case of pulling the rubber knob up and off and sliding a replacement on, or is more involved???????

I'm afraid its a manual, not auto. Its very loose and could pull it off, but then do I have to pay volvo mega bucks for a new one. i like the idea of fitting it to the steering wheel though.
