Boot floor carpet panel removal
All,
Any idea how easy it is to remove the boot floor from the back of the V70? Are there any instructions anywhere I can download? I have attached photo below showing which section I want to remove for repair and ringed in red. Tried seeing if there are any catches/bolts/screws but nothing seams obvious Previous owner has split on the carpet area and I want to either re cover or replace. Thanks in advance

A common or garden black rubber boot liner on eBay is about £11 inc
P&P and will hide the stains, my S80 Lux has one!

Really want to replace though if at all possible first, will see if anyone can shed any light of removing it first.

Lift up the floor panel that you've outlined in red to access the storage tray underneath. If you have a gas strut on the left hand side to hold the panel in the 'up' then use a flat screwdriver to pop off the clip at one end of the gas strut and separate the strut from the floor panel. (Not all models have this strut).
Then with the floor panel lifted halfway up, simply give it a wiggle from left to right while at the same time pulling it towards you and it will pop out of its hinges. The whole panel including carpet is available as a spare part, but not doubt rather expensive! Nick |

Nick,
Many thanks that's great, easier than I figured but as the car is on jacks at the moment it was too risky to clamber in and start rummaging around so had limited sight of the fixings. Cheers again

Nick,
Evening, got the gas strut of fine but the floor will not budge in any direction Are you sure this us the way it comes out on a 2008 model ? I dived in the car and from what I can see the hinge appears Intergrated with a plastic moulding. The only logic I can apply is that the hinge is encased and then slid onto the aluminium extrusion which holds the cargo clips that slide. On the very underside there are then two cap screws which look like they hold the plastic hinge assembly into the extrusion. If it's right God knows how you get these two cap screws out, either that or I am completely wrong. Anyone shed any light on this, it's the last bit I need to finish, Sod's law have given up tonight before I reach for the gas torch! Frustrated !! Cheers all

Hi TTR, if you go to the Volvo accessories site, click on Tech and sound, find front park assist, then look for pages 14 to 16 in the installation instructions, that shows you how to remove the boot floor panel. Very easy, I used these instructions for fitting front park assist. Hope that helps.

Kenny, convertisaab
Many thanks but honest I either need more weetabix or mine is something different to everyone else? Looked at the instructions and it seems simple but no way is that €$¥**er moving! I do not often get defeated but this one has me, the only way I can see this floor coming out is through taking it out along with the alloys rails, but surely NOT? Thanks again folks keep the advice coming it's really appreciated, it's not going to beat me. Cheers

Kenny / Nick,
I had an extra weetabix and squared up for battle! The oxy tank was out along with the torch, this thing was coming out tonight. Tried one last time, Gave the £&@@dy thing a hell of a yank and .........pop one side came out then twisted and other came out. Put it back in and tried again and hey ho I have the knack. Feels like you are pulling the thing enough to break the fixing but it works. Thanks again gents Going to get the carpet sorted and matched tomorrow then will be attempting to re trim this weekend. Will post pictures.....if it looks OK after I've finished. Cheers
