  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

As it's a heated element I think you'd need something more than 'sticky pads'. I would use a two part resin glue, something like Arldite, to stick the element to the plastic backing and then the mirror to the element pad. When Arldite has fully set it's more or less like glass.

how do i take the backing plate off that the mirror sticks to as i dont know

just realised that the mirror that i got from halfords has a sticky pad on the back, so i will i still be able to use that mirror? if so i would still be able to use sticky pads to stick one corner down the corner that needs sticking down is the right hand side one

Move the mirror, via the switch, as far to the right as possible. Place your fingers between the backing plate and the mirror outer frame and just pull, it should just pop off.

You can try the sticky pads but I doubt they'll last very long.
