DSTC is an integral part of the vehicle, where the ABS, the Gyro sensors, and many other sensors and systems all talk to each other over the CAN bus to control what happens in an emergency

Retrofitting it would be an very large task, basically involving transplanting all the electronics and wiring and some hardware from a donor vehicle to the target vehicle

One would have to ask whether it would be really worth it?

Has there been an XC90 without DSTC?
I'm sure my 2003 (165) had it if I recall correctly.

Early had STC, later ones had DSTC

I think looking at it, that the early cars had it as a button on the lower dash and the later ones had it built in without the option to switch it off

You can turn off DSTC in any vehicle, including the ones without the separate button.

You do it via the indicator stalk RESET button

My Feb 2003 XC90 has Dstc so I guess they all have it...

What car do you want to fit it too, your XC90 already has it. I do not think it would be a viable diy option anyway.
