Anyone in the Worthing area of West Sussex? Used RS Autos in Scarborough for last 5 years but now moved to Worthing on a permanent basis so need to find another garage I can trust with my S80.

Default SRS fauly- Garage in Northampton area

Hi

It seems I'll have to replace my faulty SRS-module (I have error SRS-CFFF Control module internal fault) in my Volvo V50 (08). I'd appreciate any advice to which garage to take car in Northampton area. I assume Dealers will be ££££££

Thanks

Thank you for putting up this list and recommendations. Really helpful. I've been to two garages on the list, both gave me excellent service. The first was Will Sawyer Volvo in Andover. However, I'm currently in London and have recently been to Braydon Motors in London E5.

Braydon really helped me out. I took my V40 to my local garage that I had used for years, to find an electrical fault. However I told them I didn't want to run up a big bill only to find there was more work to do later (I knew the car needed attention.) So for extra work on brakes and shock absorbers they quoted me DOUBLE what Braydon did, ignored the electrical fault entirely and were clearly very disinterested in doing the work. I thought I would have to scrap the car. Braydon were helpful from the start, did all the work for less with a far more reasonable hourly rate and put in several hours (uncharged) looking for the electrical fault.

Both Will Sawyer and Braydon - big recommends from me.

An update from me - in the Waterlooville area, I'd recommend Clarks Auto's in Arnside Road. They can handle Volvos, and could not be more helpful. They quoted me for a standard service, based on the Volvo info for parts & labour etc., but the actual price came in lower due to them not spending as much time as Volvo estimated for the work. They also offer a courtesy car if they have one available for you, it only costs you fuel used (you top it up, so they are not stinging you on that). Very happy with them (also look at their ChekaTrade reviews).

Including VAT the work came in at £168.27.

Please add RA Engineering, Units 12 - 14, North Street, Reading, Berkshire RG1 7DA, Phone:0118 957 1369 - they have been looking after my Volvos for twenty years or so and have managed all kinds of wizardry with miscreant ECUs and the like.

Does anyone know any decent garages near SW14 (Mortlake, which is near Chiswick).
Ideally they would do M.O.Ts also
Thanks.

Default Recommend a Specialist in Essex

Hi can any recommend a specialist in the South Essex area. I have spoken to several Volvo dealers and Service agents and never got the feeling any of the actually knew what they were talking about.

The other thing is seems to be some sort of perverse game of not actually telling you what they are going to do for £417.00 quoted. I have on each occasion asked for a list of what is done and no one has yet been able or prepared to divulge this closely guarded secret.

Default Penzance

I did recommend RM motors Longrock Penzance a while ago on here but I am not going near them again. I have an engine service urgent warning when accelerating up hill, earlier that week I noticed a tiny bit of oil leaking. They said the warning was related to the fuel filter which they changed but as far as the oil leak goes he said it was one of the driest cars he had seen for its age (106,000miles), he also told me they had topped up the transmission oil. 78 miles later I parked in a train station for over a week, when I returned there was a small pool of AT fluid under the car. Despite it being 11:30pm and -2C the AT level was around 2cm above the max hot level and looking greyish, that's quite a top up. I am glad I did my Cornwall - Chelmsford - Glasgow - Manchester - Cambridge - Cornwall trip via train.

This is not my idea of a dry car.

Back home 6 miles later I jacked up one side to change the brake pads and AT fluid started trickling out.

Search of forums then some garage time coming up.
