Good to see faces, old and new. I was aware that there wasn't a lot of mingling going on, but again it wasn't clear who was who, and I was also deep in conversation (and chips!) for much of it. We'll sort out a better plan for next time, though.

I think the point of the lowrider is to stand out and get a reaction, rather than be the pinnacle of good taste!

cheers

James

I'm sure with the amount of room available a simple request would give us one end of the cafe seating area,Down by the motorbikes maybe?

As I left I thought about the lack of mingling but catching up with old friends and awful weather just made the time go so quickly.
Yes even my 740 estate looked good in the wet despite the horrendouse touch up pen attempt by the previouse owner.Seems every little chip had a big blob of similare colour on it.And even the laquer peel on my nearside rear door was well hidden.

If I'm feeling brave enough next time I may just wear a reflective vest given to me by Mollusk which has "volvo for life" on it.Then if anyones not sure they can tap me(gently) on the shoulder and I will gladly natter for ever,,,,,,and introduce you to a few others.
Regards Brian.

Mac gets around a bit hehe big friendly fella and you can spot him a mile off! i would suspect that there would be more mingling if it was dryer, we would be happier tobstand by our cars hehe

maybe next time get some cardboard badges and hand them out to owners as they arrive/ make themselves known, have them with

name:
alias:
and the volvo badge headding it

the table and volvo flag/table top seems the easiest option though hehe

can anyone remember what i suggested for bkv? i was going to write what it was in the suggestions area but it passed my mind since....

I think you mentioned something about a few "booth babes" for each class, didn't you? Hell, even if you didn't suggest that I think its a great idea!

I remember something said about inviting some Stobart Volvos along?

A bit late with the reply...

Me and Oblark took the long way back for a tunnel run on the A3...

There's a lot of road noise but you can hear Oblak's car well on the 2nd pass

Did see a few others outside looking under the hood of the white stickered up T5? If the next meet is a better day it will be more fun . Items for sale easy to display , more car doors and bonnets etc open , a more "inviting " day !

I was one of the heads under the stickered-up bonnet. I had the ex-plod V70 with black wheels. The stickered 850 belonged to a chap called CharlesBoya and we were explaining the benefits of using a blanking plate with a dump-valve. Would have been nice to chat with some new faces, last year, the weather was a lot better and more cars turned up allowing more chance to mingle.

Still, there's always next year
