Just an update really. Managed to get myself a set of 17" Pegasus alloys so well happy as I can keep my current tyres and not have to buy a new set.
I've decided on eibach lowering springs so waiting to see if there's any post-christmas sales. If anyone can point me in the direction of a good, trusted v50 d5 remap person or company I'd be much obliged. Thanks |

I was having a little look online and came across Celtic Tuning, I’ve heard that a few people have had good results from them.
The stage 1 tune takes you to 235bhp & 351lb of torque. These are good solid figures and will certainly make a noticeable difference. I’ve got the Polestar tune, but it was the only option I had as my C30 was still under warranty at the time. It’s quite mild, just 205bhp, but for me living in Jersey, it’s perfect. You could also take a look at HLM and Shark...although I’m sure I dead somewhere that Shark was no more...I could be very Wong though. |

No issues related to the map whatsoever apart from possibly worse economy and tyre munching... But that's driver related, I did a trip to London from Yorkshire and returned 48.5mpg with a tiny bit of booting. Shark are no longer running but their software is available from various dealers according to their website, I see your location is Carmarthenshire so errr... Not really sure who is the closest!! Shem of Shemtek in Nottinghamshire is an expert maybe able to map your car remotely, so worth getting in touch with him via FB. Don of Kalmar Union I think can still supply a decent MTE map that you can load yourself - they have a website you can check out. If travelling afar is undesirable there should be someone fairly local who is able to do it, so you need to ask about really. Ask their experience because there are so many cowboys out there.

Should be ok if the rolling radius is the same, or similar as it's got to factor in difference in tyre size from new to worn down.
What I will say is, my local tyre fitters put 225/50 17's on the back of my car instead of 205/50 17's, that were on the front. **** up on their part, threw the car into a traction control hissy fit, as the rolling radius was different front to back. |

No, front wheel drive.
My guess is that because the rolling radius of the front wheels were smaller than that of the rears, anything other than gentle acceleration fooled the car into thinking the front wheels were wheels spinning, when they were not, making the TC light flash and power cut to the driving (front) wheels. Anyway, posted my reply a page too early, didn't see that op had bought new 17" wheels anyway. |

The ***/50 ** on a tyre is the percentage of the sidewall, so 50% of 225 = 112.5mm compared to 102.5mm for a 205 width tyre.
