The basic principle in the video is absolutely correct however when I changed the fluid on my XC90 I also did a 100 miles or so between each dump as it gives the fresh fluid a chance to do a bit of internal cleaning within the box.

As the time scale was short I left the undertray off for the relatively short time until I had completed the last sump dump.

As I have stated before, due to the fact that I tow a caravan, I now intend to do a single sump dump each time that I change the engine oil. Shouldn't work out too expensive and ensures that the fluid is always good

I'm happy to give it a go.
However, I don't have a vida so not sure what to do after changing the oil regarding level and resting adustments.
Any advice?

Yes,

I have VIDA and I started the car at 13C ambient. It quickly rose to 40C and then took total of about 45 minutes to get to 50C. It would not get higher than 51 or 2 idling.

I would start in the drive and idle 45 minutes and it should be fine.

You don’t need VIdA at all.

Great, thank you.

How do you reset adaptions without a VIDA?

You can't but even without resetting anything, I would still change the fluid.
