My 15-year old quite likes the fact that the 940 has been in our family since before he was born and it has done over 600K km by now...

For the PS belt a common problem is people fitting 10mm wide belts from halfords or other vendors, which are not the correct spec. Can't remember exactly but is 11.9mm or something.

I just replaced both belts from Volvo and I seem to remember them being 11. 9 ish

They weren't very expensive

I'm getting this looked at along with a couple of other niggles in a couple of weeks. I've looked at the belt and it seems tight enough to me with about half an inch or so of play. It's a fairly new belt as well. Although its hard to tell if he used the correct one.
Anyway here is a link to some photos.

So I still think I got this for a decent price, certainly less than I thought I was going to spend. So I don't mind spending a bit to get it really nice.

So there are a few panels where the lacquer has pealed in patches. I'm getting those painted next week along with having the odd little knock and scratch sorted. Then the week after I am going to see a local garage and will ask them to have a look at the air con and the power steering. See what they say. They have a decent reputation and I'm hoping they might say it's a different belt and a re-gas. Although I am not holding my breath !

This week I'm going to be giving it a thorough deep / steam clean / shampoo and clean and treat the leather. I treat myself to a decent car vac and shampooer for Xmas as the last time I cleaned our Seat it took me forever ! That's certainly going to come in handy for the Volvo.

Very nice ! Great colour Interior looks really well looked after. I'm hoping to get some decent leather seats at some point. Still got a few mechanicals to sort first though.

Enjoy

I'm an ex Barnehurst lad so know Dartford well. Not been down for a while as I have lived in Scotland for many years now ( that's why mine has rusty wings !! )

Small world. I'm from Whitley Bay originally. We know all about rust on the North Sea !

Yeah the interior is good it just needs freshening up. Leather seats are still very comfortable as well. As above mine has a couple of mechanical issues to resolve also. Fingers crossed. Still to be expected I think.
