2008 Lemon
Gud Day
I have a 18 month old C70 no problems with brakes or steering, been perfect so far. Just an annoying rattle when the roof is closed |

If nothing else, I must say you guys are entertaining.
No, not all Mick Dundee but the distances are still challenging. My home dealer is 45 minute drive, the nearest "next" dealer is 2-hour drive. The latest response from Volvo this evening is that they have been more than generous fixing what they have; that the fixes to the computer were only because I asked for them (!) and the air-con only took 3 fixes not the 5 I claimed, the sway bar only 2 fixes not 3, etc etc. But my diary and notes are accurate. In the first six months, I had five separate loaner cars, with my vehicle being in the shop 6 times. In any language, that's citrus. For those wanting to see a picture - I've loaded a nice one of the car on the flat bed tow with firies alongside as a lead in to a post called Lemon Cars, on my blog http://www.reputationreport.com.au. Yeah yeah I know, rock in the sump and all that, but it is a fitting representation of all that is wrong with this very expensive piece of fruit. Or you can retweet it on twitter: http://twitter.com/reputationrepor Last edited by noosachic; Jul 3rd, 2009 at 12:25. Reason: forgot something |

I cant find your photos , I got the website ' reputation ' looks like a good read . I am dying to know about the sump and see some photos but I agree overall your car sounds like a lemon along with the dealer and I agree that car companies seem to have no idea how to quickly deal with lemons allowing them to roll on damaging their reputations . I have driven various lemons over the past many years but mainly due to them being lease cars and having no time to do real battle with the dealers they got away with it but its left a sour taste in my mouth to the extent I will no longer deal with dealers so good luck to you in dealing with them . I hope you are more tenacious than I ever was .

Thanks @bernard333 - there is a rolling set of photos - Wall Street Bull, couple of others then Volvo.
BUT!! Have just worked out how to upload photos (I think). This series shows the damage to the underside from rock. The first shows close up of sump tray with a graze and puncture - consistent with what you suggested might have happened. Second is hole relative to tray, and third, the sump itself. Yes, I hit a rock. But really am surprised that it was able to puncture the sump tray and sump. It wasn't a big bang, and I was doing only 30km/hr. But as y'all know - this is the least of my problems with the car. Am interested in your thoughts as to the pics. Cheers, |
