Default Strange one this...

Hi All

I'll try and describe my observation...

If I compare my drivers side front wheel to my passenger side front wheel, the passenger one is 10mm futher out of the wheel arch. Does that make sense?
Or if I look down vertically I can see the top edge of the tyre on the passenger side but not on the drivers side. I am running 225/35 R18 so they are wider than normal.

Its almost as if one wheel has a spacer on it- but it doesn't, I think. Unless there is something behind the bell on my AP kit.

I've just had the front wheel cambers adjusted to -1.25 degrees and it is really obvious now. The cambers are correct as I watched him set the car up with a laser tracker.

Has anyone else got this 'problem'? Not that it is a problem , really but my paranoia is getting the better of me.

P.S. KW varient 2's are on and the ruined rear shock has been replaced under warranty. Ride is solid ( ;) don't you think Nigel) and all trace of understeer has disappeared. I now need to get used to driving the car again- the charecteristics have completely changed. Steer round a corner and it just does it!! Very un-Volvo like.

Do both wheels have the same offset? try swopping them to see. You could check the brakes to see if there is any difference with them. Otherwise it could be accident damage that has moved the subframe. Or the wing could could have damaged/replaced at some time.

Yes Andy, It certainly is a Hard Ride, Just how it should be!!!!

I'm glad you've got your Camber sorted, sounds like it's done the trick. How do the KW's adjust? Top mount or slotted holes in the Strut-Hub joint?

I have an idea to solve the mystery of the wheel sticking out... you showed me the damage to the wing mounting flange, along the line of the mounting bolts. That damage may have pushed the arch out, or pulled it in??

If you want the front end checked out, pop over one day and I'll have a look for you.
