There are 2 variants in your age band, confusingly on the 55 Plates were both called D5 they were 163BHP and 185BHP more laterly Volvo defined the engines as 2.4d for the 163 and D5 for the 185 the way to truly tell the difference is: 185 BHP = 6th and 7th Character on the chassis number will be 71 163 BHP = 6th and 7th Character on the chassis number will be 79 The 185 BHP Engine was produced to combat the issue of being underpowered, Volvo did a grand job of remapping the engine to produce the extra BHP, but without comprimising the economy, but most were actually still happy with the 163 BHP because they did really buy the vehicle for performance but more for praticallity. Be aware for cars registered after the 26th March 2006 they will be currently £405 per year to tax this applies right up to 09 Model Year where Volvo again remapped the engine a changed the gear ratios to reduce it's CO2 output thus putting it in band K or £215 per year. I have this car on site at the moment if you are interested, remember you will get a 1 year warranty if you by from a dealer this should elay your fears of anything going wrong and best of all this one is £215 to tax. http://www.lookersvolvo.co.uk/used-v...hicleID=821269 Let me know by PM if you are interested.
