Fully Comp for many is actually cheaper than TPFT now , rather than the other way.

I agree with the legal cover.

Never been convinced of this.

Legal cover seems to cover lots of 'affordable' losses, like recovering the cost of a hire car from the 'at fault' driver, or recovering uninsured losses. To me that makes it 'nice to have', but not essential. Even then, any semi-competent letter writer can probably do it for themselves, as I have, in the days before 'legal cover' was offered.

Legal cover also applies to big-bucks scenarios such as getting damages for genuine serious personal injuries. But if such a claim is valid, you'll have a long queue of 'no win no fee' lawyers at your door within minutes of the crash, so why bother paying extra?

I'm not trying to be awkward, just genuinely curious as to why people buy it?

I was with these for years and I do shop around every year = nearly always the cheapest or close enough, but then for no reason they became beyond loyally expensive so I moved.

Some people may not be able to deal with the issues themselves so it is probably a wise spend.

I always take out legal cover for the £20 or so a year, despite being able to deal with any issues that may arise.I see it as generally the less stressful option. Having a lawyer dealing with things normally gets the ball rolling quicker than letters from 'man in the street'. Even if you are a lawyer yourself, or have the knowledge, other companies that may be involved with the claim, may only 'listen' to a professional lawyer. Its also always helpful to have an independent professional fighting your corner, and or a second viewpoint. A major plus is it should all be covered for the £20 or so one pays each year.

Regards
