Default Rear light cluster and rearview mirror

Hi all, I need a passenger side saloon style rear light cluster for my 1988 740 hearse, the older type like this ebay link.

Also need a rearview mirror, the hearse didn't come with one.

Thanks!

Does anyone know if the rear light cluster sfrom a 240 are the same as a 740? They look similar to my 88 hearse ones. Thanks.

That one you linked to is almost certainly for a 200-series saloon. The 700-series units are different and you'd need to do a lot of sheet metal work to make the 200-series units fit.

Have a look at the For Sale section as there are usually spares on offer from other Forum members.

I might have a lamp cluster in my spares cache, give me 24 hours to find it.

Jon.

That'd be great Jon, if you'd have a look! Thanks. It's proven surprisingly difficult to find one, all the available seem to be estate, post facelift or 960 type lights.

Can you post a photo of the rear lamps you need to replace Tom? There were so many variations depending on year, original donor vehicle (for the hearse conversion) and so on - the reg plate isn't likely to be any help as they often changed within a year and yours might have been a year or more old before it was registered due to the time taken in converting it.

The rear view mirrors are fairly standard though.

Sorry folks, not logged on for a while - I've managed to source the passenger side rear light and mirror locally, which is a bonus! The Jury is out whether the drivers side needs replacing or not, i'll have some time at the end of the week to have a good poke about.
