Default Which engine oil

Going to change the oil in my 2.4 D5 again. (Trying to achieve 2 a year)

Last time I got a full Volvo service kit but don't need to change everything this time.

Euros have a 50% off at the mo so can get trippleX 0w-30 fully synthetic (6ltrs) for £37.

Would that be ok or is it worth spending the extra £20+ for Volvo oil?

0W30 is good. Fully syn is Volvo recommended. What is the ACEA rating? E3 motors were A3/B4 but I think E4 went A5/B5 or something like that.

Owners manual if you have it. Otherwise it should be possible to find one online.
What year is the car? I'm guessing post '05 ?

Your handbook will tell you about the oil, but it is 0w30 A5/B5 for the euro 4 D5.
Its always best to use the best oil you can, but why only ecp cheapo or Volvo? Fuchs/Shell/Motul/Mobil/Valvoline/Castrol/Total are all excellent oils equal to or better than the volvo oil (which will be made by one of these manufacturers to a price).
Volvo filters are made by either Mann or Mahle and are two of the very best filter producers, so you can save money by buying the same part without volvo stamp.
Shop around a bit, youll probably match the volvo kit for less pennies!

It's a 2007 2.4 auto.

I'll have a look at the different oils, however I'll need to be sure on the oil specs first.

According to VIDA your engines needs either 0w-30 or 5w-30 ACEA A5/B5 (full synthetic) oil. The ACEA rating is the most important.
