Default V70 Bi-fuel

I have two 2003 Bi-fuel V70s.

One is working well in all respects other than switching over to gas. It will occasionally but only when the weather is very cold and even then will change back to petrol on winding or bumpy roads.

The other will fail it's next MOT and probably has too many issues to fix economically. Leaking power steering seals, blown exhaust that has welded hand brake cables to casing (so no hand brake), slight engine oil leak and one or two other minor problems. BUT the gas works perfectly!

I was wondering how difficult it would be to change over parts of the LPG system from one to the other.
I was hoping that the problem might be caused by the round unit just to the left of the engine block that looks a bit like a regulator(?) and that it could be swapped over without too much difficulty.

I can buy gas at 46p/L near where I live so it really does make a big difference!

Would be very grateful for any advice on this.

You’re best asking in the LPG section on the board, however the weak link on the bi-fuels is the stepper motor if it has got gummed up with heavy ends from the lpg it gets its knickers in a twist and eventually dies. (I used to have a bifuel S60 so have a bit of knowledge that I haven’t forgotten!)

The distributor/stepper motor is the bit under the inlet manifold.

Thanks for that reggit. I'll check out the distributor and repost in the LPG section.
