Default 2001 V70 suspected ETM fault

Hi All,
First time posting for me. Hope I’m posting it in the correct section.
I’m looking for a bit of advise / help. I have a V70 2001 which I have known since new but owned in 2004. It now has about 140k on the clock and I have never had any major issues with the car. Around Christmas time the car went into limp mode and the engine service light came on. I have a simple OBD11 reader which read the follow codes:- P0223, P0122, P1610. I believe the codes point to the ETM being faulty. I removed the ETM from the car to give it a visual check and a clean and cleared the codes. The car has worked perfectly until today when it went into limp mode again. This time the codes read:- P0122, P1610 were the same as before but the addition of P2101, P1651.
I have read a lot about it being the ETM being worn out. It has the Magneti Marelli unit fitted which I believe was prone to giving problems. Can anybody please advise me to what the problem may be and the best coarse of action? Can the ETM be refurbished and if so any recommendations to where I can send it?

FYI. The car is a 2.4 petrol and the ETM fitted is the yellow label 8644344 unit.
Thanks

Had the same dilemma few months back. There is few options. You can rebuild the Etm, sensors from ebay. You can order new Etm around 230 plus 100 core for your ild unit and reload at the dealer around 80. Or just find used with the same part nr and it should work straight after replacement, if it doesn't then software upgrade at the dealer around 85 and that will solve the issue.

Thanks.
You said that you had a similar problem. What did you do to fix it?

In Volvo Vida diagnostics software there is a specific routine to test the ETM.

Before spending a lot of money it would be worth getting this test carried out. Find a local independent or a friendly forum member with Vida to do the tests and make sure that the ETM is actually the problem.

The Etm test only works if the unit has specific software nr. If it begins with 306 bu if has older 8xx the vida won't do the test. In my case I bought used etm from scrap for 25 and clone the software for 40 eur, only because my original etm had older software and as bi fuel model I would need to upgrade software on etm and ecm
