Default S90 R Design 2020 Parking Climate not working

Hi,

I've had the above car from new since September, and everytime I try to activate parking climate through the On Call app I keep getting a message saying its temporarily unavailable?

Any ideas???

Thanks

I take it your car isn’t the T8 or otherwise does not have an auxiliary heater(?).

If not, it’s remote start you want to use.

So it won't work otherwise? You'd have hoped the dealership would know that wouldn't you??

No. Dealerships are generally crap. I’m afraid. They sell cars. Once you have it it’s your problem. Has been my experience with Volvo. My local Ford Dealer was much better surprisingly. Anyway...

Parking climate fires up the aux heater if you have it to warm the car up. Or air con(when plugged in only) to cool the car in summer.

You want remote start which will turn on the heated seats, steering wheel and windscreen if you have those things. Which I found worked very well on my last car a T5. It will also start the engine but obvs that takes a fair while to warm up the car so I found that fairly useless.

There’s a thread on here about turning on Remote Start AND THEN switching on parking climate on cars without an aux heater. Never tried that myself though on my last car. Might be worth you looking up though.

Hope that helps.

It won’t work because there’s no aux heater to turn on. But yeah see the thread about using it after remote start.

Aircon starts also when unplugged, if the main battery has enough power.

Not sure that is right. I thought it was as follows:-

Unplugged. Turns on fan and blows in ambient air from outside.
Plugged in. Turns on fan and ac and blows in cold air.

I tried this during the cold weather without success.
Original thread Here I did find the parking climate works via the app in warmer weather, from memory I think the temperature has to be above 20c so it will attempt to cool the cabin.
