Rear brakes
Afternoon!
I Recently picked up a 2010 XC70 D5 205, and thought I would change the rear discs. It's a simple job huh. The reason for the change was the big lip on the worn out discs. However I could see the pads were like new. But why new pads on old discs? The carrier bolts were incredibly tight, and the pins were jammed in place. 2 hours later and a lot of swearing managed to get them apart and fit the new discs. As I said I compared the pads and they weren't very old at all, and genuine Volvo so I left them on. Thanks to this forum I used a 9v battery for the electric handbrake, which was a life saver as one bolt had been replaced already the other was severely corroded. Thats it for tonight, figures crossed for the passenger side in the morning! By the way this is a great forum - Cheers! Mike |
