In IE 11 there is a cross showing that dice doesn't load properly. Debugging in Chrome shows there is an error loading some JavaScript function related to "CommunicationTool" which i suspect means Dice. Not sure how to fix this, i really dont want to reinstall the laptop. |

Hi
Making progress at last. Wasted 4 hours of my life last night battling windows and VIDA. I became convinced the modified patch was causing the problems. Tonight managed to get VIDA working in 10 minutes! Wound back the computer clock 1 year so the original patch should still work. Copied the original patch from the DVD and installed straight into c, VIDA. VIDA now up and running, also the DICE serial number has appeared in the communication windows. Looking a lot more optimistic. Will try the DICE on the car tomorrow and see if it all works again. Looks like the original patch loads the DICE serial number into VIDA, on the 2013a at least. The modified patch didn't do that. Once I have seen if it all works again I will try the modified patch to reset the date. And then reset the computer clock Fingers crossed Iain |

Hi
Slight update VIDA and DICE seem to be OK DICE test passes all tests. It starts to communicate with the car but then fails part way through. One fault listed is "Faults in the vehicle CAN" I have been getting a few issues with the electric control of the mirrors. The buttons start working the wrong way around sometimes. Starting to wonder if I have a poor connection somewhere. Next week I might have a go at checking/cleaning all the plugs / sockets on the CEM first. Will have to wait until next week though. |

Hi All
slight update Re installed VIDA a number of times and was having problems updating the patch and installing it. There was a 2014 patch for download but that one messes up 2013 VIDA. Finally worked out how to modify the patch and most importantly how to apply it correctly!! VIDA now works perfectly and has loads of days left. Happy with that. Connected DICE and everything loads and installs correctly. Listed as working in XP device manager. Used the "DICE Diagnostic" program, connect and test. All tests pass. and it reads the battery voltage, all seems fine. Dice id now visible and selectable in the "Vehicle Profile" page If I click the "Read Vehicle" it tries for a few minutes then comes up with a communion error as in my previous post. I then tried "Dice configuration" then "Test Communication Tool" and it comes up with "FAIL". again with the same errors previously posted. I have tried a new USB lead. As the Dice Diagnostic runs and passes all tests on the DICE but the DICE Communication test fails, "ERROR" am i right in thinking the problem could be caused by a computer setting or software? Any thoughts anyone. Just thinking of downloading Vida 2014 and trying that. to see if I get the same Failures/errors Iain |

Hi
Just had a look at the DICE and found a dry joint on one of the components. Not even sure what it does, if anything, however will re solder tomorrow and retest. Iain |
