RE: BMW drivers
This thread has really only proved one thing - that there are good drivers and there are bad drivers. The vehicle that they drive has no bearing on how they drive (BMW drivers being the obvious exception :P)

RE: BMW drivers
That sort of behaviour needs reporting either to the police (dangerous driving) or to the lorry's owner/firm. I had a similar incident, but the only one of it's kind so far, by an Eddie Stobart driver who tried to overtake me when I was already just over 60 mph on the inside lane of the M25 (between M1 and A41 junctions). Now we all know that Eddie does not like his drivers to exceed 57 mph under threat of instant dismissal, so what was he playing at?
To cap it all I had a BMW driver (top down and tooling) who decided that, as I had just indicated that I was about to move into the outer lane, to overtake a slower vehicle on the middle lane, he would attempt to pass me using part of the concrete border next to the central barrier (M11 approaching Stanstead). He promptly left the M11 at the Stanstead exit about half a mile further up the road. He had started his manoeuvre when I was halfway into the outer lane, from a position about 60 feet behind!! I don't need to make any comment as that is exactly as it happened. I should have taken his number and reported him, but least said soonest mended. All the best, Peter |

RE: BMW drivers
Good to know im not the only one seething in fury after such incidents .What a pity I wasnt born with the DNA to make me 6foot six and with the self defence expertise of Bruce Lee ...how things would have changed still ,weedy overweight 5 foot 3 means pouring the poison out on email ..theraputic though .
Getting back to BMW drivers ,my work colleague has just bought one of those BMW jeep type things. I was having a cigarette in the car park and was eying this dubiously as it was stuffed into a small space next to my 131 .He came out and said what do you think ..and was taken aback when I said I didnt like it and I really dont .I was stunned to learn this guy is paying something like £850 a month for this thing ....this is twice my flipping mortage ! all that to sit 8ft up in the air and have a badge .He proudly went on to announce that the tyres were about £200 each or more ..like this was some kind of status buster.I burst out laughing and got back to my desk.£200 is my insurance for the year ..FULLY COMP! I think Ill stick with the Volvo ,yeah she might run a bit hot in traffic ,yes I have to lift my foot about 2ft off the accelerator to reach the brake but so what ? very best regards |

RE: BMW drivers
"Hmm, yet more scathing generalisations."
Ross, If you were referring to my point about van drivers I feel I must point out that I wasn't generalising van drivers at all. I did state that the worst examples I saw were from vans (because that's how it was - there were more vans displaying dangerous driving than any other vehicle) but I did also make the point that proportionately it was probably no different due to the fact that there were more vans than anything else on the roads.
