Classic. Ive printed it out and given it to a work mate who has just gone and bought a 318 Ci which he is convinced will waste my R in a straight line drag race (is this the mentality of all BMW owners??). Cant wait untill we go up to York dragstrip later in the year.

My son has bought a 318 and he drives ok,but of course I will send him a copy of the advert.
I will say one thing the ride and build quality is much, much better than my supposedly well built v40.

lol, that's just cruel.

V70 R AWD

250 BHP
152 mph
0-60 in 7.1 (why is this slower than the non AWD R, ie better ttraction and more power in the awd, but slower 0-60 ????? )

BMW 318 Ci (fastest version I could find)

140 BHP
130mph
0-60 in 9.0

You'll feel bad afterwards. I rememebr waiting to line up with another Rover coupe at Crail, thought it ws a turbo, only to find out it was the non-turbo version, he raced anyway, but I felt bad, there was literally 1/3 of the strip betwwen us when I hit the line :S

And as if to illustrate that fact...
Just last night on the way home, I get to a roundabout not far from my abode and a BMW 3 compact comes around the roundabout and looks for all the world like they are going straight on, but I paused (a little voice inside my head saying, "they *might* not be going that way, hold fire") and sure enough, they came swinging round in front of me and went right, not a single flash of the indicator to be seen, Funnily enough the lady in the Toyota behind them was much more courteous and I didn't have to second guess where she was going at all, due to the correct use of the orange flashy lights on the corners of her vehicle.

Cheers,
Dan.
