I usually get some odd looks when out and about in the 240 anyway, but add a massive yellow trailer to a lowered 'rat' 240 and cue full on staring!

Despite everything, Rodney (yes my 240 is called Rodney), pulled well and no rubbing on the banded steelies!

So what did you do with your 240 today?

I see your rig and raise you a double stacker of priceless wooden boats with another on the roof. Now THAT was a long, slow, painful journey.

Nice!

I've no idea what the rating is of my homemade roofrack, but it took 15x 8x4 plasterboards once! And only once. I won't be doing that again.

Thanks! Yeah I think mine is rated to about 70kg so a Firefly without centreboard just about fits. That said, I regularly used to carry my Firefly on the roof with the centreboard in and it didn't seem to mind at all (although the 4"x4" bit of wood bolted to the front bar might've helped).

When I lived in France I had 10 8ftx4ft plasterboards and they were the thick ones! I'm sure they were just under 30kg each. Drove the 10 miles home no issues, just a bit lower on the back in my 1989 240 GLT.

My 240 is called Mr Fredrickson. My work colleagues have named my cars after Disneys "Up" characters as I bear more than a passing resemblance to Russel from the film.

Move it 10ft backwards out of the workshop then 10ft forwards back into the workshop. Oh and bought a new battery because the one on it is toast.

Default Slight upgrade....

.....to the sound system, new front door speakers and parcel shelf mid range speakers, and this prototype sub woofer arrangement. Head unit and cables fitted professionally (thanks Jim!) - sounds ridiculous 🕺🏿

Unhappy

Hopefully some welding for the MOT (failed on holes in both sills at the front 2 months back), though weather a mite variable so that may change.
