Tony, I am confused that your post says that you want to change the locks.
Do you want to change the locks, or just get some fobs working?

Steve

Obviously the mechanical keys and locks will swap but not the fobs , the receiver is not a black box, it is the interior mirror ...
You may be able to get the key with immobiliser chip programmed in at a dealer though , It is probably less hassle to just buy an extra ignition key and get it programmed . What ever you decide , don't forget to get the dealer to update the database with your new key number details .. You or the next owner maybe thankful of that one day !

Hi Clan,

Interior mirror? You mean the one on the windscreen? Are you sure? Isn't it removable? I would think the car would run without that!

The black box part 9472725 is listed as a Receiver

Sorry if I have got it wrong.

Just to clarify, I am changing the locks as well as the electronics so that I have a full set of keys and fobs. I'm swapping the boot and drivers door anyway (thanks to the shower that call themselves Ripon Homes!).

I think that is a feature of later models P3 (if that's what the call it) onwards

You will need at least the CEM and ECU and UEM ( Mirror ) for it to stand any chance of starting ..

What electronics are there in the mirror of a Mk1 C70 that are connected with the key and it's fob?
