Default is it etm?

Right here goes, I have had a 2000 c70 t5 for approx 3 weeks, it ran oj but had a sorta judder when taking foot off accelerator, got mechanic friend to put code reader on it, it reset and was ok for a couple of weeks, started again at weekend so repeated and now ok again. Engine management light IS on but showing no code when read(apart from abs problem).
Is etm knackered, or something a little simpler?
Also does all etm including sensor need replacing and wheres the best(cheapest)place to get one?
Don't want this to drag on cos its first volvo and other than this a lovely car(if a tad thirsty) and don't want wife banging on about "I see you've bought another bag of **** car"
Cheers mick

I'd get the codes read with a code reader that can read all the sub-systems, non Volvo-specific ones can only read the basic engine and sometimes gearbox codes. The fact that the EML is on but you're not seeing any codes other than an ABS fault suggest the reader isn't seeing all the codes.

Then you'll know what the car thinks is wrong and can go from there.

Quick update, going thru service history, found etm replacement done and etm reload in april2012@122502 miles.
since its only done 3000 miles since then it can't be etm thats knackered can it?
Hopefully a clean or a check of other things is 1st on list
