Default AWD Haldex Differential

For quite a long time I drove my 2005 XC70 with a Anti Skid Service message on the dash. The Electronic module on the diff had failed and Volvo wanted over £1500 for a new one.
It simply wasn't worth it on a car of that age.
I hunted around and found one on EBAY from a good guy in the USA that had come off an XC90 of similar age and also a GEN3 model like mine.
After removing the old one and fitting the new/old one the message simply went away.
I was very chuffed.
Just make sure that the Electronic Module is of the same Generation as your old one and that when making the change you make sure all the bits are fitted the correct way round.
There are some good You Tube videos showing the methods.
It saves a lot of money

Very interesting - If you had not stated your experience I'd have said based on my experience ( V70 AWD R 2004 Petrol manual Gen 2 Haldex/DEM ) swapping in a DEM from the same car/model year was not possible, never-mind from a different model.
Anyway good luck to you- something else to think about.

Cheers
Bob
