Default removing centre cubby?

Ok kiddies. Time to have a laugh at somebody else's expense.....
Been keeping my sunglasses in a soft case under the roll-back cover on top of the cupholders. With me? Perfectly sensible.
Had to collect a wedding cake Friday, and put the 3180 in tenners on top of my sunglasses.
Closed the cover.
Slid it back to get my sunglasses out.
The cover rolled back, along with 17 of the £10 notes, which have disappeared into wherever the roller cover goes.
The cover comes back - the notes don't....
so - how do I take it apart?
Removed the floor of the rear section, undid the 4 torx screws, and the whole assembly moves, but the back only lifts about an inch - is there anything else I need to remove?
when you've all stopped rolling on the floor.....

...and yes, I did ask the dealer.
Unfortunately he laughed so much he started choking, and hasn't come back from A&E yet...

Sorry, did you say £3,180 for a cake? Say that is not true, please. I can't laugh about the missing notes until I'm over the potential horror of hearing that a cake might have cost that much.

thought I'd corrected that.
it was £180 - missed the "shift" key....
and I wish it WAS an april fool joke, but sadly it's true.
My car has swallowed 17 tenners.

Phew. It would have been worse had you spent £3k on a cake. Now that is sorted, hope you manage to find the missing notes. Quite bizarre how they have escaped.

I did a similar thing a year or so ago. I put a doctors prescription in there to keep it out of the way and stop it blowing out if it was windy when opening the doors.
Like your £10 notes, it disappeared, never to be seen again. It is still in that space now. Good luck.

Marshalls have said to call in when passing and one of their guys will take the cubby apart for me. Hope they won't charge!

well, the salesman said pop in. Told him when, he got the service manager to call me about booking in.
and HE's quoted me £283.
to recover £170....
what a great demonstration of concern for the customer and how to preserve the relationship built up by the sales team.
and I'm surprised....after all these years, I'm STILL surprised by how little thought some people put into their interaction with their customers.
