  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Default Map has disappeared on 2013 XC60 Satnav

Left work tonight to find that my Sat Nav is not displaying a map. The display is fine as other screens work fine - but just shows black where the map should be. See attached pic.

Any ideas? I am out of warranty and fear £££

Have tried leaving the car off for a few mins and going back - still the same. Reset all settings and user data - still the same. Defo picking up the satellites too - can see them in settings.

Can you check the sd card? If it's the model that has one in the glove box?

Pretty sure it's a HD drive on my model. Never noticed a SD Card.

Can you not try downloading the May 2016 map update to USB from the Volvo web site as these are now free and try re-installing though I'm not sure if an active base map is required to do that - but worth a try? You would need also the Sensus upgrade referred to in the linked page, installed by your dealer.

Also, for the first two years, your car with Sensus would have been eligible for the Mapcare program and you should have received 2 sets of DVD updates with an authentication code. If you don't have any codes it might be difficult to get hold of them now as the Mapcare program has been discontinued, but the DVD's themselves are available cheaply on auction sites.

Oddly, the system came back to life on its own last night.

We travelled to the Liverpool v Bournemouth game using Waze on my iPhone but on getting back to the car after the game, I checked the Nav screen and the map was back and working fine. A bit annoying that all my settings and favourites have been lost when I reset the whole thing in an effort to get it going.

I had booked in at the dealer for Monday. Will give the system a good go before deciding whether to cancel that appointment.
