Default Injector coding

Hi,
Is there anyone within 45 miles radius from Swindon who can code 4 used but remanufacture injectors to my Volvo S40 1.6d 2006? I am happy to drive there anytime next week. Obviously I pay for the service.

All you need is a decent DICE cable and VDASH and you can code them yourself .

Think there was a 25Euro charge in VDASH but beat a dealer coding for me!

Did the people who "reconditioned" them give you the new codes? The ones printed on them will no longer be accurate of course.

Good point, and if you’re going down the VDASH route you also need your CEM PIN to recode. (vdash can crack this on some cars…)

Injector is a 6 or 7 digit code IIRC… (if I was not so lazy, I’d check the paper work that came with my recond’ injector for the code format for you…)

Default Need for injector coding

I am getting mixed reports from mechanics that injector coding is necessary on my 2011 D2

I am ordering a remanufactured injector next week and my mechanic says it will run fine without coding.

Any views on this?

yes it needs coding into the ecu .. these are calibration codes on top the injector so the ecu can compensate for that particular injector to give the correct amount of fuel.
Make sure you have the latest ECU software on the D2 as it includes a fine tuning software to ensure the injectors keep within the correct parameters.

If you are getting a "reconditioned" Injector make sure it comes with the new code as the one on top will no longer be correct.. if not reject it !

Many thanks

I am getting less comfortable with recon injectors and more comfortable with new.

I may take the plunge and invest in Vida/Vdash unless I can find anyone close to me in Herst /Beds Bucks who can code injectors

Surely any local garage can do this for you it’s a fairly simple task and shouldn’t need specific Volvo software. It’s a Peugeot engine after all. But as Clan has pointed it coding is 100% necessary for it to run correctly.
