Angry C30 R-Design Ipod/MP3 Connection

I have just bought a C30 R-Design SE that already had Bluetooth phone sytems so Aux-In was deleted.

The dealer has fit a USB RDS system - they paid as they mistakenly told me the CD was MP3 compatible.

The system is poor, it cannot be controlled by the system and it interferres with normal FM and AM radio opeations (can no longer tune in to any AM radio station). The dealer has told me this is the only solution they can offer as the radio cannot be upgraded to the high performance system and an aftermarket stereo would mean I cannot control climate control etc

Does anyone know if there is a better Volvo solution for met to access my mp3s than my dealer is telling me or am I better of just getting a Belkin style FM transmitter which I can switch off and not interfer with the radio operation?
