Regular accumulation of water under spare wheel area and wet patch on left hand side on back of rear seat. Happens after its been raining. Unable to find where it comes in.

Hi Andrew
I have a 2006 C70, it has a drain channel both sides at the base of the rear windscreen. It has a join about halfway along it. The seal on my O/S channel had failed so water was going in at the top but coming out and running into the base of my boot, then it was splashing up and soaking through the boot lining. Took for ages to find, just thought I'd let you know of my experience if it helps.

One possibility is what FredGraham mentioned.

Also, when you open the boot, make sure the channels on either side are clean of debris. If the boot seal is badly worn and there is debris, water can get through that too.
Another area that water might come through, is through the fixed rear quarter panel glass windows, even though that is a much more common problem on the V40s. Finally, check that when the rear doors are closed, they are sitting firmly on the car frame and not sticking out even a bit.

Ideally, you need to remove all the rear carpets, and C-pillar trims and put some talk powder all around the area and the sides in particular and next time it rains, see where it has been disturbed with water traces
