Default Overall cost of ownership D4 vs T4

Hi,
I'm looking at V90 to replace my V70 2.0D 136hp.
Can't decide which engine will be less problematic in the long run (plan to keep the car for at least 5 years/60000miles), mainly drive around London on shorter trips but every year do a long (3000miles) summer trip around europe
Cars I'm looking at
V90 D4 57000 miles from 2018
V90 T4 32000 miles from 2019

T4 should be cheaper to maintain, no DPF to worry about
D4 has better fuel economy, but mainly short trips could potentially cause problems

Is there a good reason I should choose diesel over petrol in 2023 apart from fuel economy?

Both will leave your old 2.0D way back in your rear view mirror and both will drive very nicely but, although the D4 is probably marginally the better performer out of the two, one long trip each year won't be the best thing for it.

It's probably also the case that the fuel economy advantages of diesel will become less obvious based around urban driving.

I'd therefore opt for a T4, enjoy the slightly lower noise levels and lack of DPF issues and try to ignore the mpg aspect.

You'll enjoy it.

Apart from that, it will be worth looking at the various trim levels and trim variants and working out which one offers the best mix of comfort, handling and features for you as an individual. For example, there are at least three basic types of front seats to try out, and different people respond differently to each of these.

Thank you,

I lean towards petrol, I did not have much issues with V70, it was very reliable.

I've tried V90 seats, Momentum, RDesign and Inscription. There is a big difference between them.
I like the body kit on R design but did not like the seats.
Inscription seats are very nice and soft but show wear even on low milage cars.
My favourite seat was momentum with extendable seat cushion. From cars I've seen they showed least wear so hopefully will look good for longer.
As for the features of the car I'm not too fussy, all are pretty well equipped. Momentum plus is probably my go to trim.
