Compression reading and oil
Hello everyone,
So I think my c70 block has reached end of life it is a 2004 and has done 150K the previous owner was not too hot with oil changes and servicing, however the owner before that has full dealer history. I was getting a messy oil leak around the pulleys so:
when I started the car, it starts and runs beautifully, until it gets to temperature then I get a oil drip (continuous at the crank).... I have done a compression test (cold) results:
Number 3 does have a considerable amount of oil on the plug when I pulled it. I have not yet done a leak down. I know I should have done this before the other work but the PCV glove test was positive, so assumed it was a clogged PCV system had pushed the seals. The glove test is still slightly positive and a little smoke from the dipstick but even with the oil filler cap off and the dipstick out I still get the leak.... So is this the Piston rings and a blow by issue? a small amount of oil on the head of the engine when the covers are removed also. Hope you can help and thanks for reading.
