Default Very early 760 estate for sale

Hi all

I recently bought a very early 760 estate - after fully checking the car over I am not going to be able to keep and make all the repairs required to get it into the condition I would be happy with so I am going to sell it on to someone more capable than myself to carry out the works

I have listed onto ebay and the link is below

seems to run and drive very well and although don't have any service history looks like has been looked after over the years - only 4 owners in 30 years is not bad going

most faults seem to be cosmetic - for next mot will need some welding under the passenger side front seat

it would be nice for it to go to someone to look after it as on the post where I bought it someone mentioned it is very early due to the beige dash top and after checking how many left with the estate only been launched in 1985 this could possible be the oldest estate remaining on the road in the UK so would be a shame if it got broken/scrapped etc.....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1986-VOLVO...item33914edc63

please view/make offers via the ebay listing - I only paid £300 for the car plus my travel costs so not expecting to get a fortune back for it.

If any member would like to own I would accept £350 to get my money back and knowing it went to a good home.

Thanks

I was going to post when I heard that you'd bought this car, but here's a few comments now it's back on the market.

I did see it on Autotrader originally, and yes it is an early 765. The 700 estate range was launched late in 1985 for the 1986 model year, and whilst yours is an early car it is not the earliest 700 estate on this forum - it would be the earliest 765 though.

My own 745 was first registered in March (1986) and the others were registered in the March and April.

Good luck with the sale; having more than one estate I regret it's not for me. Let's hope whoever buys it will be a (or already) member here.

Cheers, Jon.

An additional comment about colour matched dash tops...a rare sight and only only some early cars and not confined to the 760 range.

Apart from this car I have only ever seen one other (apart from brochure images) - and that was blue and the car was in a breaker's yard.

I have just been put for a drive in it tonight with no issues
