For anyone interested my first drive in an EV was quite something. It was the lower powered std range Model 3 I drove and the performance was astounding. Even three up and not mashing the throttle the rate it gathers speed (silently) is really something. The regen braking does take some getting used to, I only used the brakes twice in 20 odd miles. But the silence of the thing combined with it's rapid but relaxed nature is intoxicating. I want one, just waiting on some leasing figures but pretty sure I've just found my next car.

Could you live with the inside though and dash, get used to it, no speedo etc.

I wanted to go to a dealer at the weekend, the one at Gatwick, but it has closed, they had an electrical fire, not filling me with a lot of confidence

Yeah the speedo on the big display seems a bit odd but I did start getting used to it towards the end of the drive. But the it's so very different from any other car is a big part of the attraction for me.
