Looking for XC90
Dear forum members, if someone is considering selling a car and came here to check prices, you have a potential buyer here. Looking for a D5, in a decent condition (not "will make an excellent workhorse"). My budget is 4k, under pressure may stretch to 5. I struggle to find a good car on the market, dodgy history, tons of advisories, trashed interiors etc.
Thanks, Vlad |

Reality is nobody sells a good car for low money. I would say 99% cases. Good cars first are offered to friends, familly members (relatives) etc before they are listed online for sale. Sometimes but very rarely you can get a bargain but you need keep looking all the time and check online few times per day.

It's not the low cost I am after, just looking for a decent car, well looked after. I am absolutely happy with my Mk1 V70, but as a 7-seater she is too small for children now, they tend to grow =) Besides, selling a car is a stress, all sorts of muppets start to offer silly money "petrol is dear these days ya know...". I can easily imagine someone like me, who gets emotionally attached to a car and hates to see it going to wrong hands, where car will get all sorts of neglects and see a wash once a year prior to MOT test. So if someone has a XC90 which is a surplus to requirements but is not ready to sell yet because of the risk it will be driven to the ground by a new owner - my car is my reference.

Totally agree with above. In the last 10 years I have never sold a car on to a non family members. The last car I sold on to a family member was a 9 year old Honda Accords 2.2 ICTDI Executive that I had owned since nearly new. Sold it for at least £500 less than market value. I'm already getting offers to take the the XC90 of my hands when I do decide to change to a Q7 (possibly) |
