I do get where Laney is coming from though regarding ratios.

1st seems to go nowhere, but 3rd and 4th seem to go on forever!!

Just my opinion obviously, but even saying that, it is a pretty much bomb proof box that will take LOADS of abuse, it's only real Achilles heal being weak synchros on very early ones, get a late one and you're laughing!!

If you cant find a better deal in the UK consider ordering it directly in Germany http://www.profiteile.de

if you can find a turbo cover - the driven plate was £100 from volvo .... thats essentially what you need , a 228mm clutch plate with an M90 spline in the middle .

im sure if you can find a dog dish flywheel , it will most likely have been on a turbo car aswell altho its not a given .

sach have a motorsport dealer in the north east , so it should be possible to order a sach part quite easily....

Default difference

Ok, I know the Sachs (1862 468 031) 228mm 20 spline clutch disk is Volvo part number 9143348.
But can I use Volvo part number 9143473 instead from the 740 D24TIC also 228mm?

Cheers, Carl.

I think the spline count would be different. Didn't 740 diesels use the M46 or M47?
